I had a mixed experience at the Beijing West International Trade Hotel. The location was decent, with plenty of local eateries and shops around. However, the room felt like it could use some TLC and needed a good cleaning. The breakfast was adequate, but some aspects of the service fell short due to language barriers.

Rooms

My room was spacious but showed signs of wear and could benefit from redecoration. Overall, it felt like a 3-star standard.
Service
6.0
The staff tried their best to be helpful, even though English wasn't widely spoken. I appreciated their effort, but it made communication tricky at times.
Location

The hotel is in Fengtai district, which was a bit far from the main attractions. Still, there were good local restaurants and shops nearby for casual dining.
Dining
7.0
Breakfast offered a nice selection for all diets, including vegans, but the dining options outside of that were mostly Chinese cuisine.
Facilities
6.0
The hotel had adequate facilities, but felt a bit dated overall.

5.6/10

My stay at Beijing West International Trade Hotel had its ups and downs. The lobby exuded an air of past grandeur, but my room felt quite dated. The breakfast buffet offered a wide variety, balancing out some of the disappointments in service and the area’s lack of exciting nearby attractions.

Rooms
6.0
The room was clean but quite dated with stained carpets and a strong smell of cigarette smoke. The shower leaked a bit, and my room didn't cool down well despite maintenance attempts.
Service
5.0
While the staff was friendly, the service felt unprofessional at times. It took a while for maintenance to respond, but they ultimately fixed my air conditioning issue.
Location
5.0
The location was less than ideal for my two-night stay, far from many interesting places. However, it was conveniently close to the Great Wall.
Dining
7.0
The breakfast buffet was quite comprehensive, offering a mix of hot and cold options, but the selection was just okay. a bit chaotic and slow to replenish.
Facilities
6.0
The hotel had plenty of facilities, but some amenities needed maintenance. Overall, it felt more like a hotel of the past.

My stay at the Beijing West International Trade Hotel was a mixed bag. While the breakfast offered a solid range of options and the location was convenient for dining out, the rooms definitely showed signs of wear and could use some upgrades. The service was decent, though communication was sometimes a challenge due to language barriers.

Rooms
6.0
The rooms were clean and tidy but definitely showed their age. They had a tired feel and were probably more of a 3-star standard. My first room had a smashed window and stained carpets, which was disappointing.
Service
6.0
The staff were friendly and made an effort to help, even though they struggled with English. Sometimes it took a while for service, like when I had to wait about 40 minutes for my request to be fulfilled.
Location
6.0
The hotel is centrally located, which is great for accessing local restaurants with amazing food. However, it felt a bit far from the main attractions, and the overall area was not very lively.
Dining
8.0
Breakfast was quite comprehensive with a good mix of options, including made-to-order omelets and a variety of cereals and pastries. Dinner options nearby were affordable and tasty, with several restaurants in a little parade just outside the hotel.
Facilities
7.0
Facilities like the bathrooms were adequate with plenty of amenities. There were also lots of outlets for charging, which is a plus. I appreciated the fresh slippers provided every day as part of the local culture.

6.4/10

My stay at the Beijing West International Trade Hotel had its ups and downs. The lobby was impressive, but the room I stayed in needed significant renovations and smelled strongly of smoke. The location was quite far from the city center and limited in dining options. However, the hotel did offer a comprehensive selection of food, including both Western and Chinese options.

Rooms
6.0
The room was spacious but definitely dated. it had a strong smell of smoke despite being a nonsmoking room. The bathroom was also a bit grubby, and overall, the room felt like it needed a refreshing touch.
Service
5.0
I encountered some issues with check-in due to limited English spoken at reception. Thankfully, I was able to communicate using a translation app, but it was definitely a hassle.
Location

The hotel is located quite far from any major attractions. and I found the surrounding area to be lacking in restaurants and things to do. It wasn't ideal for a short stay.
Dining
6.0
The dining options were decent, offering a variety of dishes, though I found them to be a bit pricey. The buffet had good selections, but the overall experience was just reasonable.
Facilities

The hotel had a nice layout and was generally spacious, but it felt like some of the facilities were showing their age. Improving the overall cleanliness would elevate the experience.

6.6/10

My stay at the Beijing West International Trade Hotel was a mixed bag. While the hotel has a grand appearance and the breakfast options were plentiful, the rooms could use some serious attention and the location isn't ideal for sightseeing. Overall, I found it a functional choice, yet it certainly has some shortcomings.

Rooms
6.0
The room I was given was spacious but had no windows, which was quite disappointing. I noticed the carpets were stained and there was a lingering smell of smoke, masked only by a plug-in air freshener that wasn't very effective.
Service
6.0
The staff tried hard to assist, despite their limited English skills. Communication often relied on translation apps, which made interactions a bit tricky but they were quite helpful overall.
Location
6.0
Located in the Fengtai district, the hotel is somewhat far from the interesting sights of Beijing. However, there are a few decent restaurants and a small supermarket nearby, which was convenient for me.
Dining
6.0
Breakfast had a broad selection, including both hot and cold items, and chefs who made fresh omelets and noodles. While it was adequate, I found the quality to be inconsistent, which left me wanting more.
Facilities
6.0
Facilities were basic and could use some refurbishment. The hotel's size meant it felt quite busy at times, but I appreciated the extensive options for dining.
